'What's New' - what's been added to this site - 6th July 2008
Welcome to the 104th's Web
Site. Over time this site will
become a record of the three years that 41 young men spent at RAF
Locking training to be Ground Radar Fitters in the RAF. The site will enable
the entry to stay in touch and also provide
historical details on apprentice training in the RAF. If you are ex
104th why not join our
Discussion Group, email
or Login to the 104th's area to stay in touch.
The content is for the
104th but it is hoped that the site will be of interest to other
apprentices and all who served at RAF Locking. Contributions to this
site are welcomed and can be emailed to the
author.
A quote from the Locking Review -
Spring 1966
Station Rugby -
"Despite many defeats the team has played well on occasions".
RAF Locking
closed it's gates on 07/11/1999
In the final days of Locking 3
RAF personnel were tasked with clearing up and 'handing in the keys and
switching out the lights'. They were Sgt Jerry Wright, WO Phil Fuller,
and a S/L (can anyone help with a name?). Phil Fuller made the executive
decision to leave and “close the gates” on the 7th November 1999.
(Many thanks to Jerry Wright for the above
information)
